Excellent fit. The best part about this unit, when not in use, you can remove everything but the base in less than 2 seconds! We purchase all our RAM-MOUNT units from NATIONALMOUNTS.COM because they seem to always have it in stock and they surprise us with such fast shipping.
The company I work for uses our vehicles for dual purposes. In the Day time we use the mounts and the night time we don't.. therefore, we ordered the RAM-REM-1, which is what Sammy Zattair calls the remov-a-pole or "quick release".
This particular unit is 3" square and attaches to the base. So, when we decide to take the Laptop stand out, all we have to do is pull a pin and it all comes out in literally 2 seconds, maybe 1.. but I don't know if I'm that fast.
My company has purchase over 280 of these units.. we have a fleet of a little over 3400 units. The reason why we are able to keep our cost down, is because Sammy Zattair explained to us that it was not necessary to purchase 3400 full mounting sets, simply purchase the bases for the vehicles and by 1/4 of the full systems, because they are all changeable. These Ram-mounting systems are so interchangeable, that I can literally take a mount from a Chevy Tahoe and Simply slide it onto a base pole from a Toyota Tundra or even a Cadillac Limousine.
Instead of spending $2999.99 to install a 9" screen so my kids could watch cartoons, I simply use the RAM-MOUNT to hold my laptop and now they are watching a 17" screen!
Considering the cost savings to our laptops, It's a no-brainer to invest in the RAM-MOUNTING SYSTEM..
